Jennifer Spencer is an artist/photographer who creates images using alternative photographic processes and digital imagery. Jennifer’s painting experience has informed her photography and the way she looks a the photographic image.
Jennifer’s career began as a painter back East in Massachusetts. After moving to California in the mid 1970’s, her painting began to change. It was during her brief business adventure in painting backdrops for photographers, that her interest in photography emerged. Jennifer’s curiosity and creative interests blossomed after attending Grossmont Community College where she acquired an Associates Degree in Digital Art Media and Fine Art Photography. Jennifer’s sensibility toward painting can be seen in her most recent series of photographic “paintings”, “Dancing to Abstraction” and her gravitation to alternative photographic processes, such as gum printing, platinum/palladium, and pigmented palladium and the DASS print process.
